The London Fruit And Herb Company: Blackcurrant Bracer - A Really Comforting Cup Of Tea

I'm relatively new to The London Fruit And Herb Company. But what I've tasted so far, I've been really impressed. Their orange green tea is not to be missed, so today I had my second cup of their Blackcurrant Bracer tea, and I was not let down.

I love blackcurrant in tea. It's warming and comforting on a cold winters day, yet, at the same time, if you drink it in a iced tea, it's just as delicious. More often then not you get a lovely richly coloured tea, that is inviting and tasty.

The London Fruit and Herb Company's Blackcurrant Bracer is really, really lovely. When brewing the blend brews to a deep blood red colour - and that is something, oddly, that really impresses me.

From the minute the hot water is added you can smell the fruity blackcurrant's. It's fresh and not at all artificial. I often find when drinking blackcurrant cordial's they can taste a bit like plastic, and that has, on very rare occasions, happened in tea, as well. With this blend, though, that is avoided.

Like all fruit teas, I brewed it for around five minutes and left the teabag in the cup.

Upon the first sip, the flavour was full. Not at all weak or wishy washy like some cheaper fruit tea's can be. I waited for that plastic aftertaste I've had so many times and it did not come. Instead I honestly felt as though I was eating fresh blackcurrants fresh from the punnet.

The only downside this tea had, was it went slightly tart as the tea cooled, so I would suggest with this blend that you drink it as hot as you can and drink it before it goes completely cold. (There are some teas that I don't mind drinking the last of it when it's cold, but this isn't one of them).

Overall this is a satisfying brew. The London Fruit And Herb Company only seem to sell their lines in branches of Holland and Barrett as well as through the Holland and Barrett website.

They do have their own website, which you can order online, via the Typhoo website. I have placed an order but have not yet had the tea delivered or any word from the company so I cant', as yet, reccomend you order from them. In fact, I'm getting slightly nervous about the status of my order. I will fill you in on this shortly!

If you can track down a box, then I'd suggest that you treat yourself. It will be well worth it as I'm positive you'll enjoy it!
